We've all been hearing the news about TikTok and how the government is putting pressure on them to divest from their relations with China. Will this result in an outright ban? Time will tell, but there are a few big things to remember. 

First of all, these things take time and there are tons of lawyers and court proceedings that will take place to delay any actual action for months or years.

And more importantly, TikTok is growing and more profitable than ever.

So while some may be concerned about it getting banned, it's clear that a company that makes THAT MUCH MONEY and has THAT MANY USERS won't just disappear one day.

It's more likely that it will change ownership, or delay any action by tying up more and more litigation in court. 

The takeaway here is that it's not something to ignore and with the introduction of TikTok Shop, it will continue to be a profitable revenue channel for Shopify sellers because of the amount of users and traffic that it brings. 

And in the meantime, don't leave your revenue sitting on the table. While everyone else is worrying about what a "ban" may look like, instead spend your time getting your shop up and running so that you can start crushing sales and leapfrog the competition.
